DART members serve as the school arts curriculum liaison to the district. Each elementary school has one DART member who is selected by the school principal to represent their school at monthly collaborations with the District Fine Arts Specialist and Arts Team. At these after-school meetings DARTS receive updated information regarding arts related in-service opportunities for elementary teachers and district arts activities such as the Utah Symphony 4th grade programs. DARTS also participate in leadership training provided by the BYU Arts Partnership and the Utah State Office of Education.
They serve as arts curriculum advocates and resources in their own schools. They are expected to report regularly to their faculties on upcoming staff development opportunities and district arts events. They also bring any school concerns related to arts curriculum issues to the District Fine Arts Specialist.
