Submitted by lana.hiskey on

Springville Junior High students started the Nebo School Board meeting off right by singing the National Anthem. The Springville Junior High choir along with the Salem Junior High Choir was recognized as the top junior high choirs in the state by the Utah Music Educators Association. They had the opportunity to perform under Craig Jessop at Abravanel Hall at the Utah All-State Choir Festival. The choir director is Ms. Cheryl Utrera.

Principal Ryan McGuire introduced the Dual Immersion Students and teacher Mrs. Emily Edman. Five students spoke in Spanish to the Nebo School Board of Education about what they had learned in Spanish. The student remarks were translated to English by Mrs. Edman.

Springville Junior’s school community council member, Mrs. Eva Whitesman, presented to the Board about their goals and school Trustland funds. The presentation ended with a quick video showing students learning and giving service.
