Technology Educator in the Spotlight

Submitted by lana.hiskey on

Angela Wilson, a special education/English teacher at Diamond Fork Junior High, is using more tech tools in her classroom. When thinking about going digital, Angela says, "The students tend to respond more with learning tasks online."

Ms. Wilson is developing phonics lessons with the Bill of Rights to increase student reading and comprehension skills. She is using the Hyperdocs technique. This new method employs a Google Doc or Google Website as a learning guide and placeholder for learning exercises.

To annotate, she is using Kami, a free Google Extension with powerful PDF and Google document editing features. Going digital requires time and effort, but is necessary to meet the needs of 21st century learners. Kudos to you Angela for your many efforts to engage students with technology!
