Exploring the Heart: A Hands-On Experience
Our students recently had the incredible opportunity to explore the inner workings of one of the body's most vital organs firsthand. Using cow hearts, students identified key structures such as the atria, ventricles, valves, and major blood vessels. This activity allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of how blood flows through the heart.
During the lesson, students carefully made incisions to examine the thick, muscular walls of the left ventricle and compared it to the thinner right ventricle. They traced the path of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood, truly bringing textbook concepts to life. This hands-on experience not only sparked curiosity but also fostered an appreciation for the complexity of the human body.
If you or your child love science and want to dive into real-world anatomy, this is the class for you!
Thank you Ms. Hartvigsen for always giving your students these types of experiences.
