There are three categories of student organizations and clubs at PHS:

National & State Organizations

First, national & state organizations are groups like Future Farmers of America (FFA) that have a national or state presence and are approved by the district or school. These organizations fit under the  district policy as "curricular clubs." For these organizations the district or school provides space to meet, a faculty advisor, and other supporting resources.

District or School Sponsored Clubs

Second, district or school sponsored curricular clubs are those that have a direct tie-in to our academic programs, for example the Spanish Club. Like the national and state organizations, for these clubs the school provides space to meet, a faculty advisor (sponsor), and other supporting resources. These clubs also fit under the district policy as "curricular clubs."

Student Organized Clubs

Finally, student organized clubs are those that are not specifically sponsored or endorsed by the school, but are student generated and led. These clubs fit under the district policy as "non-curricular clubs." They do not have to be directly tied to an academic program, but they do have some requirements they must adhere to. The school provides these clubs a space to meet and a faculty advisor (supervisor) to give oversight and on-campus supervision, but does not sponsor or endorse the club nor provide other supporting resources.
