The Nebo Education Foundation continues to meet to discuss submitted educational grant proposals for students in Nebo School District. One of the goals of the foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning.

These grants are funded through the fund-raising efforts of the Nebo Education Foundation board. One fund-raising effort is the annual “Green Fever” golf tournament that helps fund these various grants throughout the year.  The “Green Fever” tournament is filling fast and has hole sponsorships still available. The Green Fever Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Hobble Creek golf course. The foundation also accepts donations from individuals and businesses to support projects.

Brian Rowley, president said, “Thank you to the many businesses and individuals that provide tremendous support of our students. Because of your donations, the Nebo Education Foundation is able to provide resources to teachers to enhance the quality of education for our students in the classroom.”

Congratulations to the following teachers that continue to bless the minds of students.

Springville High – Jessica Kemper
“Thank you so much for this opportunity for our English Kids! Being approved for this grant has now opened an opportunity for young men and young women to be allowed on the same playing field as their peers. Children that come to school who don't speak fluid English are at a disadvantage. But with this amazing opportunity, we are able to allow them the independence, growth, and equality that they all deserve,” stated Jessica Kemper, English and Special Education teacher at Springville High. “Each student will be allowed a translator while in the English class. This will allow them to put it on their desk to hear the lecture and then reference back to the lecture if they need any help. The pocket translators will translate into any language, the students then if they want to can turn the lecture into English. This then gives them an opportunity to reference words and learn English better. Thank you so very much for allowing us the opportunity to help our students grow.”

Hobble Creek Elementary – Esther Hill
“Thank you so much for awarding Hobble Creek Elementary's second grade with a Nebo Education Foundation grant! We are very excited to use the grant money to buy new stereo headsets with microphones for our students,” said Esther Hill, a second-grade teacher at Hobble Creek Elementary. “Our students use earphones daily and they are constantly breaking.  We have bought very inexpensive headsets in the past and they never last long. The grant from the Nebo Education Foundation will allow us to purchase great quality headsets that will last two years! The microphones will enable students to record themselves while reading text, and giving explanations of their work!
Next year Hobble Creek Elementary will have four second-grade classes. The grant will allow us to purchase 94 headsets, with 23 in each classroom!  We are so grateful for the Nebo Education Foundation's generous donation!”

Rees Elementary – Kristin Silva
“The grant we received for the Expanding Expression Tool (EET) will enable us to better serve the students we work with in therapy. This multi-sensory approach is engaging and has shown proven results in helping all students remember and implement the strategies taught. We are so excited to see the growth in our students' verbal and written expression as we use the EET! We are grateful the Nebo Foundation has provided funds to purchase this tool and support us in our efforts,” stated Kristin Silva and Peta Clark, speech specialists, at Rees Elementary.
