The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Mr. Saia Naulu as the Principal of Spanish Fork Junior High.

Mr. Naulu received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree with a major in Physical Education and minor in Biology from the University of Utah and his Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Southern Utah University.

Saia has been employed by Nebo School District for 9 years. He began his career at Mapleton Junior High School teaching biology for five years. He then served as the Dean of Students at Valley View Middle School for two and half years. For the past year and a half he has been the Assistant Principal of Spanish Fork Junior High School.

A colleague said, “I’ve been impressed with Saia’s love of students and his demeanor as he interacts with students. He wants what is best for students and has a talent for helping students through tough situations. Saia helps students learn to manage their own behavior. He is willing to take on new responsibilities, be a team player, and can be depended upon. Saia is an impressive administrative team member.”

When asked about his educational philosophy, Saia said, “My philosophy of Education is simple, elevate those around you. The best way to do so is to Listen, Learn and Love. If you can do these three things, you can be a source for good in the life of anyone.”

One of his favorite quotes is from The Office, “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think, ‘Would an idiot do that?’ And if they would, I do not do that thing.” Dwight Schrute. This advice from Dwight has helped Saia on many occasions.

Saia enjoys spending time with his wife, Mikell, and three children. He loves all sports, especially basketball, football and golf and is a die-hard University of Utah fan . “GO UTES!”
