The choirs from Salem Hills High (SHHS) were asked to sing at the Utah State Capitol building this past weekend as part of the Utah Music Educators Association (UMEA) "Day on the Hill" in conjunction with the Utah State Legislature.
Part of the mission of the UMEA is to focus attention on the need for music education in our Utah schools. This stellar performance was a reminder to all the Utah legislators, who may have been able to hear, of the excellent music education in our Nebo schools and what it is doing for our communities and students.
Representatives Mike McKell and Marc Roberts as well as Senator Deidre Henderson were all in attendance and congratulated the students and choir director, Justin Bills, on our performance.
Mr. Bills said, “Thank you so much Utah legislators for your support of these amazing students!”
