Cherry Creek Elementary Wows Community Leaders - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Submitted by lana.hiskey on

Cherry Creek is a Leader In Me School. The theme this year is “The HERO in Me Sees the HERO in You!”

Cherry Creek Elementary celebrated with students, faculty, and staff starting with a variety of talents and a Wax Museum. Community leaders enjoyed seeing the various projects in the main hall as well as the art show, dance team, orchestra, as well as a slideshow.

This was the seventh annual Leadership Day Celebration. Every year the school showcases leadership at the school. Some students could be seen greeting visitors, singing, and giving speeches. All students know that they are a leader at Cherry Creek.

Some of the important habits students learn at Cherry Creek include Stephen Covey’s 7 habits: be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek first to understand then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw.

A couple of themes that resonate throughout the school included: “We lead. We learn. We inspire. I am important.”  Another one was by Christopher Reeves, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”

Thank you Mrs. Amy Darrington for cultivating such a wonderful school where students learn to be confident and helpful leaders. Community leaders especially enjoyed the Victory Lap.

Congratulations to Stephanie Bott for answering this week’s “Where are we Wednesday?” challenge sponsored by Wiggy Wash.
