Additional Nebo Administrative Appointments -- MMHS, Salem Junior, Valley View Middle

Shea Bradshaw - Principal of Maple Mountain High
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Shea Bradshaw as the Principal of Maple Mountain High for Nebo School District. 

Shea received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Weber State University and his master’s degree in Music Education from Brigham Young University as well as his Administrative License from Southern Utah University.  

Mr. Bradshaw has served as the Assistant Principal of Maple Mountain High for the past three years and Dean of Students of Salem Hills High for one year. He taught choir at Spanish Fork High for eight years and taught choir at Box Elder Middle for ten years. Mr. Bradshaw received the National Honor Society Teacher of the Year in 2009 at Spanish Fork High and Teacher of the Year in 2006 from Box Elder Middle School.
                        
A colleague said, “Shea is a leader and knowledgeable. He shares his knowledge in an effective way with others. He goes out of his way to get to know students. Shea is also fluent in Spanish.” 

“I have been blessed to be surrounded by many great people who have seen in me qualities, that at times, I could not see in myself. I will be forever grateful for patient teachers, amazing students, and great mentors in education, especially my Nebo colleagues and friends,” stated Shea.

Shea is an active member of the Utah music community as an adjudicator, clinician and singer. He loves spending time with his family, especially cheering on his kids at various sporting events. Shea is an avid cyclist, mountain biker, hiker and camper. He is married Micah, and they have two children.     

Terry Krieger-James – Assistant Principal of Maple Mountain High 
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Terry Krieger-James as Assistant Principal of Maple Mountain High School in Nebo School District. 

Mrs. Krieger-James earned her bachelor’s degree in English Education from Brigham Young University and her master’s degree in Education Administration from Southern Utah University.

Mrs. Krieger-James has served as the Assistant Principal of Salem Junior for the past two years and as Dean of Students for one year. She taught Honors English and AP Language and Literature at Maple Mountain High for five years and at Salem Hills High for four years. Mrs. Krieger-James taught English for over four years at the Spanish Fork Intermediate and at Diamond Fork Middle. She served as debate coach, newspaper advisor, and department chair.

A colleague said, “Terry is a well-rounded educator who has accomplished a lot of things in her career. She has extensive experience in both high school and junior high settings and understands the students of each age group. Terry is committed to the success of students, teachers, and the staff. She treats everyone with respect and handles every situation with professionalism and class.”

Terry’s motto includes: “It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do.” by Jane Austen. Terry said, “I truly loved the twenty-two years that I spent as a teacher working in the classroom with Nebo School District students, parents, teachers, and administrators. I appreciate the invigorating new challenge the school board has given me over the last few years to move into the world of administration. I believe that one of the most important roles that teachers and administrators share is the role of learning alongside students. As a teacher and as an administrator, every day is different with the chance to learn something new. I still get excited when each school year begins, and there is no better career than a career in education.”

Terry loves reading great classic literature and going to Disneyland with her husband, Kurt, three children, and seven grandchildren.

Michael Adams – Assistant Principal of Salem Junior High
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Michael Adams as the Assistant Principal of Salem Junior High School in Nebo School District. 

Mr. Adams earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Utah Valley University, his master’s degree in Education from University of Phoenix, and his Education Administration from Southern Utah University.

Mr. Adams has served as the Dean of Students of Payson High and Mapleton Junior for the past four years. He also served as a counselor for six years and worked in the Juvenile Court for three years, and Youth Corrections for six years. 

Mr. Adams was recognized with the PTA Excellence in Service Award in 2015. He received the Safe and Drug Free Schools Federal Grant in 2008. He has written and spoken at national conferences on teaching social skills, resilience, and mentoring at-risk youth.

A colleague said, “Mike leads leaders. He recognizes the importance of creating a positive school culture that supports professional learning communities. Mike helps teachers improve their curriculum and analyze data as well as provide students with additional time and support to meet their student-learning objectives. He has embraced the extra-curricular activities at the high school. He is professional and committed to school-wide excellence.”

“For me, education administration is the best job in the world. I get to help kids recognize and realize that they have more potential than they know. I get to acknowledge and commend teachers on their efforts at making the world a better place one kid at a time,” stated Mike. “So many of my heroes are people from Nebo School District: RaShel Shepherd, Frank Daybell, Robert Fleming, Alicia Rudd, Suzanne Kimball, Nate Whitney, Kevin Mecham, and Keith Richards. I feel like my 11 years in the district has been an 11 year stretch of constant mentoring from the best of the best. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with people who love kids and love learning. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”

Mike enjoys the guitar, hiking, pickleball, hammocking, and smoking all meats. He is married to Rachel, and they have three children.

Lori Cunningham – Assistant Principal of Valley View Middle
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Lori Cunningham as the Assistant Principal of Valley View Middle School, in Salem, for Nebo School District. 

Mrs. Cunningham earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and master’s degree in Educational Leadership both from Brigham Young University and her master’s degree in Secondary Education from University of Phoenix.

Mrs. Cunningham has served as the Dean of Students of Salem Hills High for the past three years. She taught Language Arts, Journalism, Yearbook, AP Language and Composition, Honors English, and Creative Writing at Springville Junior High for five years, Springville High for two years, and Maple Mountain High for six years. 

Mrs. Cunningham received the BYU Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations School Leadership Award in 2017 and the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2005 from Springville Junior High School.
                        
A colleague said, “Lori is bright, personable, knowledgeable, engaging, reflective, motivating, and hard-working. Her positive attitude, confidence and deep understanding of student learning is remarkable. She is professional and committed to school-wide excellence. She energizes new learning programs and improving leadership. She is committed to helping all students learn at high levels. She takes on difficult tasks and gets the job done. Lori is a thoughtful listener, shares great ideas, models, and helps teachers feel supported.”

“I benefited from teachers who cared enough about me to learn more about me and then gear the learning experience to my needs. An educator’s responsibility is to have the highest regard and expectations for all students no matter their circumstances or individual pace. Students should be able to sense high expectations, acceptance, rigor, and regard in their daily encounters with their teachers. I have an intense belief in the power of education in the lives of students,” said Lori. “One of my favorite quotes is: ‘Education is freedom.’ by Oprah Winfrey.”

Lori enjoys reading, hiking, glamping, jeeping, traveling, and being a Grandma. Lori is married to Daniel, and they have two children and four grandchildren with one more on the way.
