Nebo School District Appoints Jesse R. Hales as Assistant Business Administrator

The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Jesse R. Hales as the Assistant Business Administrator for Nebo School District. This position was held previously by Michael Harrison for the past 18 years.

Mr. Hales earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Utah Valley University in 2006 and his Master’s of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Utah State University in 2009. Also, Mr. Hales is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Mr. Hales was employed as a controller for Telos for the past eight years, where he performed all chief financial officer duties for the company.
                                    
Mr. Hales’ philosophy of the role of assistant business administrator is his dream job. Jesse stated, “I am very excited about the stability, location, retirement opportunities, and duties of this position. This is the type of position where if something isn’t working right or needs to be done, I would jump in with both feet and go to work.”

Michael Harrison, future Nebo Business Administrator, said, “We are delighted to have Mr. Hales join our team! He is well educated and has a strong accounting background and will be a great addition to Nebo School District.”

A Telos employee said, “As the controller at Telos, Jesse taught that accuracy is of the utmost importance. While striving for accuracy, Jesse also understood the importance of being accountable for the accounting department, He shows leadership skills in helping others be accurate and accountable.”

A colleague said, “Jesse has a foundation and reputation of hard work, motivation, and integrity. He values quality work of himself and others. He is personable and relates well with anyone he comes in contact with. Jesse is organized and well educated.”

Mr. Hales appreciates the quote: “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.” 

“I am a proud graduate of Spanish Fork High School and would like to thank all of the teachers who have helped me become the person that I am today.  I am very humbled and grateful to be offered this position by the Board of Education,” stated Jesse. “One unique thing about me is that I met my wife through Nebo School District.  Both of our moms worked at the Legacy program and set us up on a blind date. Next week we will celebrate our 13th anniversary.”

Jesse is married to Haley; and they have three children, including twins. He is always volunteering to coach one of his children’s sports teams whether it is t-ball, soccer, basketball, or baseball. He also loves to play and watch sports, spend time with his family, and has recently started hiking. Jesse hiked Mount Nebo, Mount Timpanogas, and Spanish For Peak in the past year.
