The current Associate Superintendent, Julie Warren, will be retiring at the end of June, so the Nebo School Board of Education appointed Suzanne Kimball as the Associate Superintendent of Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction for Nebo School District.

As the Associate Superintendent of Curriculum, Mrs. Kimball will oversee the Nebo Framework for Student Success focused on strengthening articulation and alignment in all areas of the district that affect curriculum, instruction, and assessment in grades K-12.

Mrs. Kimball received her bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University and master’s degree in Education from Purdue University as well as an Administrative Certification license from Utah State University.

Mrs. Kimball is currently the Coordinator of Curriculum. As an administrator, she had the unique opportunity of opening two new junior high schools. She served as the Salem Junior High Principal for two years and as the Mapleton Junior High Principal for five and a half years. She was also the Principal of Springville Middle School for three years. Mrs. Kimball taught English for six years and has worked in Nebo School District for twenty-four years.

In 2012, Mrs. Kimball was awarded the Principal of the Year by the Utah Association for Secondary School Principals. In 2005, she received the Reading Principal of the Year from the Nebo School District Reading Council; and in 2001, Suzanne received the Excellence in Education Award from the Mapleton/Springville PTA Council.

A colleague said, “Suzanne is one of Nebo’s professional leaders in curriculum. She has always been an innovator and change leader. She works well bringing together groups of educators to move forward with creative instruction, robust curriculum, and quality assessment.”

Suzanne said, “I believe that deep learning happens together--collaboratively creating and problem solving. Helen Keller once said, ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.’ As educators, we are mindful of nurturing growth in others and masterful educators reflect, question, try, fail, and continue to grow themselves with their trusted family members, colleagues, and friends.”

Suzanne enjoys reading, traveling, and organizing. She is married to Richard, and they have three children.
