Nebo students from the Maple Mountain High’s advanced welding class were able to go on a field trip where they toured four union halls (sheet metal workers, pipefitters, ironworkers, and boilermakers) as well as the Weber State University's welding engineering department.
It was a long day of over 10 hours and 200 miles, but the students enjoyed using the equipment at several of the union halls, learning about post-high school options, and meeting with multiple experts in the field of welding and other trades.
These real-world experiences are certainly valuable in the education process. Thank you to everyone who made this MMHS welding field trip possible! The MMHS welding students are taught by Jared Massic.
