One of the goals of the Nebo Education Foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning. The Nebo Education Foundation functions through generous donations made by individuals and businesses.

President Brian Rowley said, “The funds donated by our generous benefactors enable our fine educators to enhance both traditional and technology based methods of teaching.  We could not provide this assistance without the donations we receive from our communities, corporate, and private donations.”

Congratulations to the following teachers that continue to invigorate students’ appetites for learning.

Santaquin Elementary – Shawnee McMullin
Shawnee McMullin, first-grade teacher at Santaquin Elementary, said, “We are so excited to receive this grant to purchase a set of headphones for each student in our classes. This will be so beneficial to their learning experience. These headphones will help each student be able to complete their tasks in a quiet and focused manner. They will also be such an asset for us teachers to be able to help individual students as the class works quietly and independently with their own set of headphones! Thank you so much!”

Brockbank Elementary – Kristel Peterson
“Thank you Nebo Foundation! Our fifth-grade team is so excited to get our world and country maps that you have helped fund! Our students will use these on a daily basis for our world and US history studies. As we all work toward becoming better global citizens, it will help to have a constant (accurate) visual to refer to. Thank you so much for your continued support of Nebo teachers and students,” said Kristel Peterson, fifth-grade teacher at Brockbank Elementary.

Santaquin Elementary – Keeley Holt
Keeley Holt, kindergarten teacher at Santaquin Elementary, said, “Thank you so much to the Nebo Education Foundation for approving my grant for decodable readers. I will be using decodable readers in my small group instruction to help my kindergartners learn to read. I am so grateful to the donors and volunteers who make it possible for teachers to buy the materials needed to help our students continue to learn and grow. I appreciate your generosity. Thank you!”

Salem Hills – Becky Rosenberg
“I would like to give a huge thank you to the Nebo Foundation, and its incredible donors. I am so excited to be able to replace three pottery wheels in my classroom. Students have been using the current pottery wheels for 13 years and some of them have reached the end of their usefulness. These new pottery wheels will allow students to throw bigger and better pots then they are able to on the current wheels. I’m pretty sure the students are as excited as I am for this gracious donation. Students have the opportunity to find new skills, and the new wheels will allow hundreds of more students the exciting, rewarding, and therapeutic experience of building and creating with clay. THANK YOU!” exclaimed Becky Rosenberg, art teacher at Salem Hills High.

Santaquin Elementary – Stacie Elliott
Stacie Elliott, kindergarten teacher at Santaquin Elementary, said, “My students and I are so excited to get our decodable readers. Kindergarten is an exciting time where the students learn so much. This amazing grant of $704.83 plus the matched funds from my principal, Mr. Richins, will allow me to supply my students with readers they can enjoy and learn from year after year. I am so grateful for the time and money the foundation dedicates to students and teachers. These last few years have been trying, and it is such a blessing to receive support and encouragement from the community. Thank you so much for this opportunity!”
