Springville Mayor Matt Packard presented the Mayor's Youth Award to all the students of Cherry Creek Elementary at an assembly held on Tuesday, May 17.

Mayor Packard complimented the students on their response to a challenge given by Tabitha’s Way to help fill their food pantry. Mariela Pastrana from Tabitha’s Way explained there are approximately 200 families that receive food assistance from their Spanish Fork Center and the shelves were starting to look bare.

Cherry Creek Elementary students and their leaders collected 1,930 pounds of food, filling 21 overflowing barrels. This is a record. The organization has never seen such an amazing response from a school!

Congratulations Cherry Creek!

Congratulations to Brittany Averett for answering this week’s “Where are we Wednesday?” challenge sponsored by Wiggy Wash.
