Many of Nebo schools celebrated National Walk/Roll to School Day. Here is an example at Park View Elementary in Payson.

Park View Elementary celebrated National Walk/Roll to School Day in the biggest way! Prior to the event, students were taught about the benefits of walking or rolling to school.

Students learned: Vitamin D is good for you, it's an act of self-love, it helps you connect with nature, it feels good to move your body, and it is a fun way to stay physically healthy. The students were also taught different tips for staying safe when walking/rolling to school, such as: using safe school routes, staying alert, making yourself visible to drivers, looking left and right before crossing the street and when possible using the crosswalk.

To celebrate walking to school, the Park View Parents, led by Abby Haslem, put together quite the party for students as they arrived at school. Willy from UVU  @uvuwolverine, Cosmo from BYU @cosmo_cougar, and Leo the Lion from Payson High came to pump up the students on their way into school!

Payson City Mayor, Bill Wright, handed out donated fruit from the Payson Smiths Grocery store and Riley's You Pick @rileystasteofsunshine and @rileysgenola.

What an awesome activity to see the Payson community come together and donate items to help encourage a safe, healthy lifestyle for our Park View Bees!
