The Nebo Education Foundation meets each month at 7:00 a.m. to discuss submitted educational grant proposals for students in Nebo School District. One of the goals of the foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning.

Here are a few more teachers that received funds to meet the many needs across the district. This Foundation Board functions through generous donations made by individuals and businesses as well as fundraisers where all the money goes to educate students in Nebo School District. Thank you to all those that so generously supported Nebo students through donations.

Congratulations to the following teachers that continue to make a difference in the lives of students.

Rees Elementary – Sarah Ward
Sarah Ward, instructional coach at Rees Elementary, said, “Rees Elementary is excited and grateful to be awarded a Nebo Foundation Grant to purchase decodable books for our library. It is a great resource to promote students’ growth in decoding skills.  Our students will benefit from using the text in small group settings as they apply phonic skills when learning to read. Teachers are thrilled to have additional text to support literacy instruction in their classrooms. Thank you Nebo Foundation!”

East Meadows Elementary – Madie Treanor
“Thank you so much for awarding a grant to Mrs. Treanor and the third-grade team at East Meadows. The team will be using the funds to purchase books specifically for third grade to use during small group reading instruction. These trade books will bring a rich literacy experience to students as the teacher have intentionally designed instruction around these novels to meet the needs of higher performing students. Thank you so much for the support you give to our teachers and our schools. We are so grateful for the foundation,” stated Principal Teresa Jordan.

Madie Treanor, third-grade teacher at East Meadows Elementary, said, “We feel so lucky to have received this grant to purchase books for our students who do not need skills based small group instruction. We have had a limited number of books that we can read with such a large group. We will be using this money to buy six sets of books for us to use as a grade level. As we have found ways to service our students on or above grade level, we have wanted to challenge them within different texts. This grant is helping us to get a range of books for these students to read. Thank you so much for making this possible that we can move the academic needle for these children!”

Brockbank Elementary – Robin Martin
Robin Martin, speech therapist at Brockbank Elementary, said, “Thank you Nebo Education Foundation. We are thrilled and honored to receive a grant. Our special education student's deserve the best, and with this grant we are able purchase engaging materials for them to use as we work on their IEP goals. This year we have a lot of needs and with the grant we are able to stretch our budget even further. Thank you so much for helping us meet the needs of special education!”

Salem Junior – DeAnna Ashworth
“We are so grateful to the foundation for granting us the funds to get our spotlight. They made the show. My advanced drama class is already planning on how they can use both spotlights in future productions. Personally, I am relieved that we will have dependable spotlights for the future! Thank you so much!” exclaimed DeAnna Ashworth, drama teacher at Salem Junior. ”
