One of the goals of the Nebo Education Foundation is to fund worthwhile projects in the district that provide resources to enrich student learning. The Nebo Education Foundation functions through generous donations made by individuals and businesses.

President Marla Bird said, “The funds donated by our generous benefactors enable our fine educators to enhance both traditional and technology based methods of teaching.  We could not provide this assistance without the donations we receive from our communities, corporate, and private donations.”

Congratulations to the following teachers that continue to invigorate students’ appetites for learning.

Santaquin Elementary – Keeley Holt
Keeley Holt, kindergarten teacher at Santaquin Elementary, said, “Thank you so much to the Nebo Education Foundation for awarding a grant to purchase a Chutes and Scores Basketball Hoop for our playground!!! Mrs. Holt and the kindergarten students at Santaquin Elementary are so excited and grateful for this grant. We can’t wait to play outside!!! The Nebo Education Foundation is amazing!!!! Thank you for all of your help and support for schools and teachers!”

Wilson Elementary – Carli Wright
“Thank you SO VERY MUCH to the Nebo Education Foundation for your care about students' wellness!  We are finding more and more that students need support to understand and regulate their emotions.  The tools, resources, and books we are purchasing for our counseling program and wellness room at Wilson will help us provide opportunities for students to deal with their emotions in healthy ways.  We are focusing on creating a calm, inviting physical space in our Wellness Room by adding the cloud light covers, weighted animals, posters, and focus tools.  We will also be able to purchase the bilateral vibration bands, which disrupt the ‘fight, flight, or freeze’ response, to help kids who are anxious or dysregulated to calm down. Our students (and teachers) thank you!” exclaimed Carli Wright, counselor at Wilson Elementary.

Mt. Nebo Middle – Emily Walker
Emily Walker, special education teacher at Mt. Nebo Middle, said, “I am truly thankful to the Nebo foundation for providing me with this grant opportunity. Working with diverse students' needs and backgrounds can be a challenge. Having this grant will be a valuable opportunity for my classroom to enhance the learning experiences of the students. With this grant, I will be able to purchase an extensive range of age-appropriate books and games that will complement the curriculum and engage each of the students in fun and interactive learning. These resources will not only promote literacy and critical thinking skills, but they will also foster creativity and social skills.  As a new special education teacher I understand that access to a diverse collection of books and games can make a significant difference in a child's educational journey. The grant  will enable me to offer my students a well-rounded education that is both enjoyable and educational, providing them with the tools they need to succeed in life.”

Park View Elementary – Rosie Boren
“We are so grateful to receive this grant! We are very excited to get a collection of Scholastic Short Reads for Park View. These Short Reads will allow us to elevate our comprehension lessons for informational texts. I am excited to use this in my classroom to help my students grow in their informational comprehension skills! Thank you!” exclaimed Rosie Boren, fourth-grade teacher at Park View Elementary.

Wilson Elementary – Tiffini Robbins
Tiffini Robbins, special education teacher at Wilson Elementary, said “Teachers are always looking for ways to better the  education of their students. I am a Special Education teacher in an Accommodated Core Classroom. The students are beginning to read books, as I was going through the selection I had, the appropriate books for their reading level was very limited. As I looked into purchasing books for the classroom, I knew that I could not do it alone. This grant money is giving me the ability to bring books into the classroom to help the students feel successful as they read. With a variety of options for them to choose from. Thank you so much for making this dream a reality for me and for my students.”

Mt. Nebo Middle – Tiffany Jacobson
“We are so excited about this grant!  We have been working hard creating a pilot program for Mariachi music this year and will be transitioning from an after school program to a class within school hours. In the coming year, our Mariachi program will be growing from 8-10 students to over 50 students!!!!  Because we have so many students enrolled, we are in great need of more instruments and this grant will allow us to make those necessary purchases. This program is so important for such a large community in Payson and you can see by the enrollment numbers next year that students and parents are very excited by this opportunity. Thank you so much Nebo Education Foundation!” exclaimed Tiffany Jacobson, music teacher at Mt. Nebo Middle.
