A colleague commented, “Curtis is a real advocate for students. He constantly goes out of his way to make them feel recognized and appreciated. He spends much of his time in the hallways and classrooms interacting with students and is a champion of kids.”

Curtis’s motto is, “I try to live by my 20-year rule; 20 years down the road, the former students, colleagues, parents, and community members I have worked with will look back and say that I helped them have the best experience possible in our school.”

Curtis is married to Jill Tuttle Burton. They have three children. He enjoys “living and loving in the world of education, academics, extracurricular activities, and athletics.” He also enjoys getting in a workout at the gym, playing guitar and working on his golf game.
