Nebo School Board Appoints Shauna Shepherd as the Assistant Principal of Maple Mountain High School

The Nebo School Board appointed Shauna Shepherd as the Assistant Principal of Maple Mountain High School.

Shauna earned her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History and German Teaching from Brigham Young University, her Master’s of Arts Degree in Teaching from Grand Canyon University, and her Administrative License from Southern Utah University.

Shauna has been employed by Nebo School district for 28 years, beginning as a German teacher at Spanish Fork High for thirteen years, followed by six years teaching German at Maple Mountain High. She served for two years as the Dean of Students at Springville Junior High before being appointed Assistant Principal at Springville Junior High for the past seven years.

Receiving numerous seminar awards, Mrs. Shepherd was honored as the 2011 Holocaust and Jewish Teacher scholarship recipient, 2010 Polish-American Teacher seminar recipient, 2010 Fulbright Teacher seminar recipient, 2009 Larry H. Miller seminar recipient, 2009 Crystal Apple Awardee, 2008 United States Holocaust Museum Teacher Fellow, 2007 Tri-State History recipient and presenter, 2004 TraiNDaF recipient, and 2004 University of Utah Hinckley Institute of Politics recipient.

A colleague stated, “Shauna has been a pillar of dedication at our school.  She puts everything she has into ensuring the success of every student in our building.  There is nothing she will not do to make a student feel successful and noticed.  She is a real treasure.”

Shauna’s personal motto is, “Connect with others in kindness so that they can experience those moments that make a difference, and that tomorrow can be better than today.” 

Shauna is married to Brooke and they have two children; Carter and Lincoln.  She enjoys reading, puzzles, traveling and playing games with her family, singing, camping, and completing 50 races in her 50s.
