Lynn Mecham was appointed by the Nebo Board of Education as the Assistant Principal of Springville High.
With the new vacancy left by Lynn Mecham in the transportation department, the Nebo School Board appointed Joe Warren as the Transportation Supervisor.
Cathi Jarvis, Springville High’s Athletic Director, received the National Award of Merit 2011 by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) this spring. There is only one award per state. Cathi was selected out of all the other athletic directors in Utah.
On April 27, 2011, Maple Mountain High School and Nebo Districts Special Education held the first annual Nebo Superstars Track and Field Day for students in our special needs units around the district.
Utah Highway Patrol Officers Kevin Elmer and Bryce Ivie presented the safety Gold Award to Nebo’s transportation technicians at the Nebo School Board of Education meeting on May 11.
Nebo Junior High Art Show is on display at the Covey Center in Provo until May 25. It features 60 pieces of artwork from each of Nebo’s Junior High Schools including Mt. Nebo, Payson, Diamond Fork, Spanish Fork, Mapleton, and Springville Junior High. There are 10 pieces from each school.
Nebo School District’s sixth-grade string students represented 14 elementary schools in Nebo District.
Larsen Elementary delighted the Nebo School Board of Education with a snippet from Alice in Wonderland featuring Alice, played by Jalyssa Friant; the Mushroom, played by McKaylee Scott; and the Caterpillar, played by Erica Nelson. The play was directed by Denise Cope.
