On March 3, 2011, 77 fifth- and sixth-grade students came to Hobble Creek Elementary after school to debate the issue: "Resolved: the State of Utah Should Require All State Government Buildings to Have a Renewable Energy Source as a Significant Part of Their Total Energy Use."
Kristen Betts, a newly elected board member on the Nebo School Board of Education, won her seat in the Mapleton area that includes portions of Springville, Covered Bridge, and Spanish Fork. Kristen fills Collin Allan’s seat.
Cory Green, MMHS Girls' Basketball Coach, is selected as 4A Coach of the Year by the Salt Lake Tribune.
The Salt Lake Tribune announces girls’ basketball MVPs. MVP for 4A is Forward, Lexi Eaton dominating at Springville High. Lexi is a senior and led the scoring with an average of 29 points a game.
The Nebo Education Foundation awards grants for March 2011.
Oakridge School was recently awarded a 2011 Utah Community of Caring Innovative Practice Award. The award is sponsored by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Center for Community of Caring at the University of Utah College of Education.
Wilson Elementary students delighted the Nebo School Board of Education this week. Principal Ron Penrod introduced the students and mentioned that Wilson Elementary had just celebrated their 50th birthday in 2010.
