“Lori has always been such a rock star! She cares deeply about everything she does, and shows it in her work and interactions with everyone.” ~Saedra Oldham

“Lori went from kitchen to kitchen making sure the lunch ladies all knew how to do their jobs and was always bubbly and kind to everyone. She brought her knowledge and made everyone feel cared about and special!” ~Debra Messick

“Lori was able to do a food booth at one of our fundraisers for a student with cancer at Maple Mountain High School. She was able to donate all proceeds to the fundraiser. Another exceptional service is anytime she is at our school overseeing the cafeteria, she has a smiling face and cares so much about each of the students that come through the line even though she doesn't know them.” ~Kambrie Ivie

“Lori always went above and beyond and loved serving all she worked with.” ~Jessica Smith

“Lori cares for her lunch ladies along with all of the kids throughout the Nebo School District!” ~Christi Millen

“Lori is always kind and puts 100% into whatever she is doing.” ~Katy Smith.

“She was always organized!” ~Shandy Burnside

“Lori is always nice and willing to help anyone, even when she isn’t feeling well.” ~Chelise Larsen

Angela Killian, Principal, Riverview Elementary
Nominated by: Amy Cook & Misty Jones

“Angela Killian is a great example of a supportive and innovative leader.  While always trying to look forward to what our school needs, she is also very supportive of what we need from her as a leader. There have been many who have learned from her calm and understanding leadership. She is an example to us as a school of being a lifelong learner, and someone who loves education. Thank you Angie for supporting us, being an example and helping us especially through some really hard things the past few years. You give us confidence and a love to keep trying to do better.”

“Angie is always looking into best practices for teaching-learning and helps not only faculty, but students understand what it means to be a learner. She has gone above and beyond to make learning accessible and attainable for all. Angie is inspiring in so many ways. She has a big heart and truly cares about all those she comes in contact with. I am so grateful that I was able to work with her and will never forget the impact she has had on my life. Thank you Angie.”

Paula Robinson, ESL Specialist, Barnett Elementary
Nominated by: Kali Brown

“Mrs. Paula Robinson is a rockstar! She is a wonderful support to all of our students and their families. She goes above and beyond each day to act as both student and family advocate. Paula is on call each day to help with language support, translation, meetings, phone calls, etc. Our students feel loved and valued in her class. Our parents and teachers are grateful for her help to facilitate smooth and effective home/school communication.”

Jeremy Luckau, Bus Driver, Transportation
Nominated by: Jennelle Youngs & Youngs’ Children

“I leave for work everyday at 7:30. Each day my children run down the driveway to see Jeremy wave and hear him honk. My two-year-old talks about it everyday. If she doesn't see him, she is sad she didn’t see her friend and cries all the way to the daycare. My older children love it as well. They run out in the snow or rain just to see him pass by. Jeremy doesn't need to honk and wave each time. He could simply drive by. He knows how to bring a smile in a simple way. Jeremy makes my day too. Thank you!”

Kris Turner, Secretary, Valley View Middle
Nominated by: Kylee Spainhower & Koriane Maughan

“We just wanted to recognize Kris Turner from Valley View Middle School. She is our counseling secretary, and she does a phenomenal job! She works hard, comes up with new ways to help students, and does it all with a smile on her face. She has experienced heart wrenching loss and yet she still blows us away with how she shows up to work everyday with a smile and positive attitude. The students love her, and she's absolutely amazing!”

Melissa C. Roundy, Teacher, Art City Elementary
Nominated by: Jamie Huston

“Melissa always has a smile and great attitude. She's a delight to work with, and the students love her. Melissa always does her very best and is a great example to everyone she comes in contact with.”

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This initiative is designed to focus on "raising the bar" on providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally. A key component of this initiative is the development of the PEAK Award. The PEAK (Positive Energy and Kindness) Award is presented monthly to someone in the Nebo School District who "really gets it" when it comes to providing exceptional customer service, which in turn results in positive impacts on everyone including students, parents, co-workers and members of the community.

Who Gets Nominated?
Faculty and staff members are nominated by anyone in the community through the Nebo School District website, www.nebo.edu/PEAK wherein a special Customer Service link is provided. The directions as to how to nominate an employee for the PEAK Awards are clearly spelled out on the site. All nominations must include information on how the individual has provided exceptional customer service, as well as how the employee's actions impacted the nominator's overall perception of Nebo School District Schools. The name and contact information of the nominator must be included.
