Moises Cerda from SHS wins First Place in the Secondary Division and Jacob Reeves from Sierra Bonita wins First Place in the Elementary Division at the Utah State Goalball Tournament.

Mapleton Junior High Concert Band was selected and performed at the prestigious Junior High State Band Festival at the University of Utah in the beautiful Libby Gardner Concert Hall. 
       

Mt. Loafer has had a tradition of focusing on the fine arts; it began with Principal Roger Bushman.  He purchased 15 electronic pianos and hired a piano teacher.

The National Art Education Association has named Jethro D. Gillespie, of Spanish Fork, UT, to receive the 2013 Utah Art Educator of the Year Award.  Mr. Gillespie teaches at Maple Mountain High School.

The Nebo School District and Nebo Board of Education honored Dr. Lynn and Joan Bateman at Board meeting for their generous donation of two parcels of land in Duchesne County. One parcel was given in the early 1980s and another in the late 1980s. These two 10 acre sites were recently sold.
