Spanish Fork, Utah, June 24, 2013 — Dwight Liddiard, principal of East Meadows Elementary school in Spanish Fork was selected as Utah’s 2013 National Distinguished Principal.

Mike Larsen, Principal at Sierra Bonita was recognized for Excellence in Educational Leadership through the University Council for Education Administration by the BYU McKay School of Education faculty for his excellent ability to successfully create change and make improvements.

Sam Tsugawa, music teacher at Springville High, was selected as the 2013 Sorenson Legacy Award for Excellence in Arts Education by the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Legacy Foundation. Seven music educators and other accomplished arts educators from around Utah were honored at a banquet last month.

Monica Giffing, Agricultural Education teacher and FFA Advisor at Springville High School, was selected for Utah's Agriculture Outstanding Agriculture Teacher Award.

Caryn Covington, a Special Education – Mild/Moderate Disabilities teacher at Riverview Elementary, was selected for the annual Cooperating Teacher Excellence in Mentoring Award given by the Department of Counseling Psychology and Special Education (CPSE) at Brigham Young University.

Laurie Hansen, a Salem Hills High Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) adviser, is a recipient of the National Master Adviser Award from the Utah FCCLA Conference.
