United Way’s annual Day of Caring showed how local volunteers can unite and impact their community in a large way on Wednesday, September 8. Thirty-six service projects were performed across Utah County with more than 40,500 hours of completed service estimated.

On September 20, 2011, Nebo School District held its first Fall Academy of the quarterly Captains’ Academy for the 2011-2012 season. The purpose of the Captains’ Academy is to promote leadership and sportsmanship between Nebo School District’s five high schools.

Saturday, September 24, 2011, marked the 35th Nebo Tournament of Bands held at Payson High School.  The event is co-hosted by Payson High School and their band boosters as well as the Utah Music Educators Association.

Nebo School District announces Semifinalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program

The State Energy Program and Governor Herbert recognized Nebo School District for participating in an energy management program to benchmark buildings.

Krystal Baker, English and journalism teacher at Payson High School, was selected as one of the 165 journalism teachers nationwide and 1 of 3 from Utah to attend hsj.org, a national and advanced journalism conference, this summer in Reno, Nevada.
