Come Meet Nebo’s New Advanced Learning Center

A special event is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday on October 23 and 24 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. for the public to see Nebo’s new Advanced Learning Center.

Principal Susan Huff of Spanish Oaks Elementary was awarded the 2012 David O. McKay School of Education Alumni Achievement Award.  Mrs. Huff spent eighteen years in the classroom and taught first and fourth grades.

The Nebo Health Fair at Salem Junior High provided all Nebo employees and their families with the opportunity to receive flu shots as well as receive free biometric screenings including non-fasting cholesterol, high blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI).

The Utah Music Educator’s Association hosted the All State outstanding high school singers from throughout Utah in the All-State Grand Festival concert at the Salt Lake Tabernacle on Saturday, October 13.

Amber Hall, physical education department chair at Maple Mountain High, was named the Utah High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year 2012 by the Utah Association for Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance (UAHPERD).

Utah Valley University (UVU) awarded Spanish Fork High with the most concurrent enrollment students in Utah Valley. Spanish Fork has over 700 students currently enrolled in classes where they receive college credit.

Chris Loveless, Payson High School Wrestling Coach, was selected as the Wrestling Coach of the Year by the National Federation of High School Association (NFHS).

October's Nebo School Board meeting will be October 17, at 6:00 p.m. because of Fall Break. Usually the Nebo School Board of Education meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend these meetings.
